Ferrari World’s 200km/h rollercoaster

If you enjoy seeing your breakfast again, then no doubt you’re looking forward to the roller coasters on Ferrari World, the world’s biggest indoor theme park set to open on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island later this year. And just to get fans of ludicrous theme park rides giddy with excitement, developers have given a few statistical hints as to what we can expect.
The Ferrari F430 replica four-seater ride (above) will be two kilometres long and travel up to speeds of 95 km/h. And because the track fits two cars running side-by-side, it’ll feel like a race, with a different winner each time.
But this is small fry compared to the frankly gut-wrenching stats of Ferrari World’s F1 rollercoaster, which is rumoured to travel at “speeds exceeding 200 kmh”.
Other attractions will include a driving and racing school for youngsters and a “Flume ride” that takes you on through the heart of a giant Ferrari 599 engine.
It sounds ridiculous. And yes, we want to go so very bad.
