Scarier than The Blair Witch Project

Ten years after The Blair Witch Project scared the living hell out of international audiences and gave hiking organisations a serious PR headache, another docu-horror is about to moisten the world’s pants.

Demonic-possession film Paranormal Activity (screen shot left) has become the most profitable – and perhaps the most terrifying – independent film of all time. Made for $15,000 by Oren Peli, it has been doing the festival circuit since 2007. And now, it’s ready to have brave cinema goers crying into their popcorn.

The story revolves around a young couple who move in together before realising that they may not be alone in the house. One sets up a surveillance camera in the bedroom to prove that any mysterious bedtime goings on aren’t anything to worry about. And then it all gets a little bit unbelievably terrifying.
